Fillers for Lines, Wrinkles and Lips

Restylane is a long-lasting and clear gel for filling out
lips, facial wrinkles and facial folds. The hyaluronic acid
in Restylane is almost identical to that naturally found in
the body. The product is naturally integrated into the
tissue, allowing important nutritive agents to pass freely
through the implant and cells to pass between fragments of
the gel.
When injected into the skin, Restylane lifts the lip,
wrinkle or fold. Once in the skin, Restylane works together
with the body's own hyaluronic acid and joins forces to
create volume. Unlike permanent implants, Restylane always
leaves you a choice
when the effect of the treatment has worn off.
Restylane is made in the laboratory and is not extracted
from animals. The risk of allergic reactions is extremely
rare. Therefore Restylane is very safe to use instantly
without skin testing.
Restylane is available in 3 forms: Perlane for deep
wrinkles, folds, and scars, offering longer lasting results
for lip enhancement or enlargement. Restylane is used
for medium sized lines and wrinkles, and Restylane Fine Line
for superficial facial lines.
Restylane is introduced just under the skin's surface
through a very fine needle. It is injected at intervals
along the line until the right amount of correction has been
achieved. The treated area is then massaged gently to smooth
the surface.
Restylane can be used to "fill" and smooth out smile lines,
crows feet, frown lines, worry lines, acne scars, small
lines around the lips and various other facial lines.
Restylane can also be used to treat the border of the lips.
This can add definition to the lip border for those who
desire a fuller look to the lip. Restylane provides volume
where the concentration of the body's own hyaluronic acid
has decreased.
One treatment session takes about 15-30 minutes. The results
can be seen immediately. Occasionally the treated area may
become red and swell slightly for up to one day afterwards.
This is usually not very noticeable, allowing the treated
patient to meet other people and work as normal.
The duration of benefit from Restylane treatment is
dependant on the individual. It depends on many factors,
such as the structure of the skin, lifestyle, age, as well
as on the degree of perfection expected by the individual.
We know however, that for the majority of the patients
treated about 50-80 % of the effect remains after 4 months.
Most people choose to have a touch-up done within 3-6 months
of the original treatment.
