When Grace�s friend offered to have
me try Botox I was extremely hesitant to volunteer. Of
course, I�m all about trying anything as far as
treatments go, but I�m pretty happy with the way I look
and was afraid I would come out looking like Joan
Rivers.
So we both went in together to see Dr. Weksberg - a
great Toronto Cosmetic Dermatologist, knowing that he
was going to be doing the work made me feel much better
since he has a great reputation. We went in and asked
our million and one questions and we both decided to try
it out right there on the spot.
First off - the staff at Dr Weksberg�s office was
excellent, they were all so obviously knowledgeable and
talented. They answered all our questions, made us feel
comfortable and what I liked the most was that they were
nothing like I pictured a cosmetic doctors office to be
like. The did not push anything on you or let you feel
flawed - they asked you the questions on what you wanted
enhanced - not what they felt you should do - they
really considered people�s self esteem and took care in
their clients. I seriously could have hung out their all
day.
So first thing was deciding where to inject the Botox -
luckily I don�t have too many lines - but I do have this
scrunching that happens above my noes and between my
eyes that I hate - it�s that part that I notice in all
pictures of me and I hate. I have also heard that Botox
helps with migraines and I have literally been a walking
sinus head ache for years.
About 4 days after the Botox injections, I realized that
my head aches were gone - it has been 3 weeks - still no
head aches. As much as I love how much fresher my face
looks from the Botox, the lack of head aches will keep
me going back every 6 months without a doubt.
I went back a week later to have some Juverderm
injections, I wanted something subtle, a ridge in my
upper lip, and some injections in my frown lines - my
face doesn�t really smile - it sort of makes a straight
line and on the right side of my mouth there is a slight
frown line. I was so scared of these injections making
me look different. I was so hesitant and really almost
didn�t do it and boy am I glad I did. I absolutely
cannot believe how much I love the results.
I also thought that my nose was out of proportion with
my face and I�ve thought of getting my nose done - and
with the slight injection in my lips and mustache area,
everything looks proportionate - it totally cured my
nose hatred. Not to mention my lips are so subtly bigger
but in a sexy pouty way that I�ve always wanted.
When I say it is subtle but such a big difference I
really mean it - everyone has been telling me how great
I look, how much I�m glowing, asking me if I�m in love,
have lost weight, blah blah, blah, but not one person
has noticed that I got anything done. My own mother who
dissects me every time I see her and I knew she would be
so mad if she knew I had any work done has no idea. All
she said to me the other day is that she can tell I�m
eating healthier because I look younger - �ahhh� yes Mom
that�s what it is� - little does she know. If my Mother
didn�t notice - nobody will ever notice.
What I�ve taken from this most is that you can make such
a small change that doesn�t cost a fortune and really
boost your confidence extremely. I have always been a
confident person, but I notice that without make up and
my hair a mess, I can walk down the street and turn
heads, I�m sure it isn�t due to the work, but the simple
fact that the Botox & Juverderm just change those tiny
little things on my face that I would hide and it makes
me feel like I�m in my twenties again. I love it and
will definitely continue to do it in the future.
